LIFE OF MUSIC

Glenda would like to pay tribute to her very first Music Teacher - Sister Mary Enda (RIP) who was a Sister of Mercy in the Cairns area (North Queensland, Australia). She also taught Glenda's mother to play the Piano and Violin with preparation for Music exams.

Glenda owes a life's debt of thanks to all of her beloved Professors of Music at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music.

Finally, Glenda would like to thank her dear mother Lea for all her'mothering', devotion, time and love.

Mozart Makes You Smarter!

- THE MOZART EFFECT & DON CAMPBELL -

"The Mozart Effect is an inclusive term signifying the transformational powers of music in health, education and well–being."
"Research with Mozart's music began in France in the late 1950s when Dr. Alfred Tomatis began his experiments in auditory stimulation for children with speech and communication disorders. By 1990, there were hundreds of centers throughout the world using Mozart's music containing high frequencies, especially the Violin Concertos and Symphonies, to help children with dyslexia, speech disorders and autism." www.mozarteffect.com

"Don Campbell studied classical Music with the legendary Nadia Boulanger and Jean Casadesus at the Fountainebleu Conservatory in France."
He is the author of "The Mozart Effect", "The Mozart Effect for Children" & "Healing at the Speed of Sound". Campbell calls Mozart's music "the T'ai Chi of the Ears."

A 1993 study of College students showed them performing better on spatial reasoning tests after listening to a Mozart Sonata.

In 1998, the Governor of Georgia, Zell Miller, proposed providing every newborn in Georgia with a CD of classical music!
